Join Aneka for the ‘Draft & Sew – Midi Skirt’ class and learn how to draft and sew a professional looking skirt. Aneka has created a pattern for a simple yet flattering and stylish midi skirt, suitable for all shapes and sizes. The skirt features an A-Line flare to the hem, princess seams and is fully or half lined. Aneka uses a facing to finish the waist, an invisible zipper fastening at the centre back, and an optional slit opening, finished with a professional facing.

Over 6 modules and 3.5 hours of 4K video this class will teach you how to draft the skirt; learn functional drafting techniques such as: how to draft an A-line shape, the importance of the grainline on princess seams, and how to draft a professional lining and facing pattern.

Once the skirt is drafted follow Aneka through the step-by-step production process, from cutting out and working with slippery fabrics such as rayon and viscose, to the importance of interfacing and where this particular garment needs to be supported. You will learn how to introduce an invisible zipper into a sewn seam, how to stabilise the waist with cotton stay tape and how to sew a facing to a slit opening. The production process and well drafted pattern pieces will leave you with new skills and a professional looking garment.
