Sew your own garments, but can never get the fit right?
Would you love to design a variety of skirt styles, but worry that all the hard work will be wasted if they don’t fit?
Are you interested in making bespoke garments for clients?

If you answer yes to any of these questions, this course is for you; learn to draft a skirt block.

Join Aneka Truman for an online master class in skirt pattern drafting and learn how to make a skirt block that fits your individual shape and size. Over 19 modules and 8 hours of 4K video, you will learn the skirt pattern drafting process. Begin with how to accurately measure a mannequin, a person and yourself. Understand how to turn the measurements into calculations that you need for drafting. We will even give you an understanding of the maths, just in case you’re interested!

Once you have calculations, Aneka will teach you how to draft a 1 dart and 2 dart skirt block. We are proud that our classes are inclusive for all shapes and sizes; and will discuss drafting a skirt block for a fuller figure and the differences that brings.

You will learn how to turn the skirt pattern into a sample you can fit on yourself or others, and Aneka will talk through common fitting issues that you may be faced with and how to amend them on the paper pattern.

Finish the class by finalising your skirt pattern, turning it into a skirt block. Learn how to draft a variety of accompanying components; a straight waistband, shaped waistband (for a skirt with a lowered waist) and facing. As well as a lining pattern for both a loose and bagged lining style.

Learn at your own pace with lifetime access to this pre-recorded class. All of our video content is fully subtitled and written in-house, supplied with interactive documents. This class is suitable for any level, with Aneka’s informative teaching beginners can follow along and more advanced students can simply speed up or skip video content.

Finish the class with a skirt block that you can use to draft other skirt styles from, or that you can make into a perfectly fitting straight skirt.
