The Paxton is a classic moto-inspired leather jacket with a notched collar, princess seams, and a fitted silhouette. This course teaches you every technique required to construct it professionally - whether in leather, faux leather, or suede.
You'll follow the Speed Tailoring method - a structured, unit-based approach that breaks the jacket into manageable sections before assembling them together.
Includes the Paxton Jacket PDF pattern (worth A$40).

FAQs
No. The course covers choosing, cutting, interfacing, gluing, pressing and top-stitching leather step by step. You should be comfortable using a sewing machine and have some garment construction experience.
A domestic sewing machine is fine. You'll need standard Universal Needles, a walking foot can be useful so the leather feeds smoothly. I would recommend some clips instead of pins, and leather glue and a roller.
All three work. The course explains the differences and how to handle each. If it's your first leather project, a lightweight suede is the most forgiving, and pig suede is my recommendation, as it is generally the cheapest for the size of skin.
The average amount of leather required for a jacket is 35 sq. ft. Sizes above a size 8 or patterns with adjustments may require more. It is always best to finalise the pattern and fit a toile before purchasing the amount of leather required, as colour matches can be tricky.
The Paxton Jacket PDF pattern is included with the course and comes in sizes 0-8 B Cup (UK 2-18) and 7-15 D Cup (UK 16-32). See the size chart.
